This article focuses on the best wedding barn or mill venues in West Yorkshire, ranked based on reviews from various platforms and our own personal experience. We’ve listed our top three at the start of the article, but also listed the best of the rest lower down on the page.
Top 3 Wedding Barn/Mill Venues in West Yorkshire
1. Chilli Barn, Otley

The only venue on this list to score a massive 4.7 out of 5 on Google Reviews, The Chilli Barn tops our list of the best wedding barn/mill venues in West Yorkshire thanks to several years of high-quality service. The venue itself is a refreshing modern barn conversion, meaning some of the wedding photos coming out of this Otley-based venue are quite astonishing. Converted to a wedding venue in 2014, many couples have since enjoyed the venue’s fusion of modernity and rustic charm, as well as the beautiful setting on top of Otley Chevin overlooking the valley below. There’s space for additional setups such as yurts, tents and marquees, but you’ll be far from disappointed if you only ended up with the basics. If you’re looking for a barn venue that never fails to excite, look no further.
2. East Riddlesden Hall, Riddlesden

Perhaps a more traditional barn venue than the Chilli Barn above, East Riddlesden Hall near Keighley should be top of your list if you’re looking for proper rustic vibes. A historic house and intimate gardens managed by the National Trust, East Riddlesden Hall is not just a wedding venue – but its popularity stems partly from its versatility as a venue. While the Airedale Barn, which seats up to 160 guests and boasts underfloor heating (crucial for those winter weddings!), is the go-to venue for most couples, larger gatherings can be seated in the historic main hall of the house, which can stretch to a 400-strong capacity and offers an even more authentic, medieval feel with warm stone walls and a grand fireplace.
3. The Engine Shed, Wetherby

Making our top three partly due to its utter uniqueness as a venue, The Engine Shed in Wetherby began its life as a goods shed on the train line between Harrogate and Church Fenton. Now a Grade II listed building, it has gone through a phenomenal renovation and is now one of the most popular events venues in the market town. Weddings here have a really special vibe that you can’t find anywhere else – while many barn venues can seem to be much of a muchness, The Engine Shed is truly like nothing else, and the top-notch friendly service that Lee and the rest of team provide before, during, and after the big day is second-to-none. Highly recommended.
