Wedding Celebrant Ceremony in Settle at Falcon Manor

Are you looking to have a celebrant-led wedding ceremony in Settle at the gorgeous Falcon Manor, nestled within the heart of the Yorkshire Dales? Perhaps this post will help. I’m Mark Gregory, an award-winning wedding celebrant based in Addingham, Wharfedale, a stone’s throw from North Yorkshire – and here are my experiences of leading wedding ceremonies at Falcon Manor over the last few years.

Falcon Manor Wedding Venue

The first thing that always strikes me when I arrive at Falcon Manor is its grandeur from the outside. I had driven past it many times on my way to Yorkshire Dales sightseeing before I became a wedding celebrant, and always marvelled at its appearance. You will have that same feeling as you walk up to the venue on your wedding day – especially as they seem to have a knack for making sure the weather cooperates whenever weddings take place, at least from my experience!

The wedding team at Falcon Manor are also fantastic. They could not be more willing to put your mind at ease and help both the bridal party and fellow suppliers feel comfortable and supported throughout the day. As for the ceremony space – it isn’t the largest in the world, but it certainly has character, and the view out into the grounds on a sunny day is absolutely magnificent. It’s a perfect all-in-one wedding venue, with a bar, ceremony space, grounds, catering, and accommodation all available for your big day.

Maya and Will – Wedding Ceremony in Settle at Falcon Manor in May 2025

Maya and Will’s wedding ceremony at Falcon Manor, May 2025. Photographed by Finley Fisher.

Maya and Will’s wedding ceremony at Falcon Manor was a real emotional ride. They chose me as their wedding celebrant because of Maya’s journey away from her religious faith, and the profound impact that journey had on her relationship with her family. I volunteer with a charity called Recovering from Religion, which helps people who leave their faith find purpose, support, and community outside the religious settings they grew up in – and this connection struck a chord with both Maya and Will immediately.

They trusted me not only with the details of that journey, but with retelling their story – with all its ups and downs – to their family and friends, many of whom knew parts of it but not the full picture. There were many tears, from the bride especially, but also from guests who had come to know her since everything had unfolded. And the amazing Will had supported and encouraged her throughout every step of that process. His quiet, unwavering strength was captured perfectly in this moment from the ceremony:

Even when met with painful words and closed doors, Will stood firm by her side. When someone called her “weak,” he didn’t flinch. He simply said, with quiet certainty: “She’s not weak. She’s one of the strongest people I’ve ever met.”

An amazing capture from Finley Fisher of Maya and myself embracing after the emotional ceremony.

After the ceremony, Maya and Will had this to say:

The ceremony was so perfectly amazing, best day and better than we ever thought it even could be. You were incredible and everyone was blown away by you! It really set up the day to be the best day of our lives.

Thank you, Maya and Will, for doing me the honour of trusting me with your big day. I wish you both a long and wonderful life together.

Rebecca and Alex – Wedding Ceremony in Settle at Falcon Manor in March 2026

On literally the only sunny day in the entirety of the first three months of 2026, Rebecca and Alex tied the knot at Falcon Manor in a ceremony that we joked was sponsored by Unimog and Land Rover. I first met this brilliant pair at a wedding fayre at Falcon Manor towards the end of 2025, and they quickly decided I was the one for them — along with several other suppliers from that same fayre, including photographer Gemma Suckley and amazing vocalist Sarah Widdup.

Rebecca and Alex met through work, with both of them involved in either driving Unimogs or sourcing Unimog parts — so it was somewhat inevitable that their paths would eventually cross. It was love at first sight, for one of them at least, and once they got together it simply felt like they were meant to be. Then, during a holiday in France, disaster struck on the way home when their Land Rover broke down, leaving them stranded at a French toll booth for around 18 hours. And then this happened:

Alex turned away from her and started chuckling to himself, before turning back to her. “It’s funny,” he said, “We are so far up shit creek, but all I can think about is asking you to marry me!”

And that, family and friends, is how Rebecca and Alex got engaged at a French toll booth in a broken-down Land Rover 40km from the English Channel. Just like Rebecca always dreamed of.

The ceremony itself was full of warmth, laughter, and more than a few unrepeatable moments — including an off-the-cuff comment from Alex during the Unity Candle ceremony that had the entire room in stitches and will not be forgotten in a hurry.

Did Alex ask Rebecca to ‘blow me’ after I instructed them to extinguish their candles? Maybe. Photo by the incredible Gemma Suckley Photography.

After the ceremony Rebecca and Alex thanked me:

Thank you for all of your hard work over the last couple of months, and for creating a ceremony that truly reflected us as a couple! It was hands down our favourite part of the day, and everyone was commenting on how lovely it was and how well you lead it.

We really appreciate you pulling out all the stops to create what can only be described as a masterpiece! We’re sad that its all over but we will forever be thankful that you were part of our day!

Thank you, Rebecca and Alex – for having me be part of your day, and for the wonderful atmosphere you yourselves brought to it.
