The Darkness Of The Theatre is a funeral poem by Mark Gregory about someone who loved going to the cinema, or had a passion for movies, old and new, that was unmatched by anyone else around.

The Darkness Of The Theatre
by Mark Gregory
In the darkness of the theatre
Where the screen would light up bright
They found solace, joy, and comfort
In the stories that played each night.
Their love for film was boundless
And they’d watch them one by one
From the classics to the newest hits
Their passion was second to none.
But now their time on earth is done
And we gather to say goodbye
We’ll remember them very fondly
As we look up at the night sky.
We’ll think of all the movies
That brought them laughter and tears
And though they’re gone from us now
In our hearts, they’ll always be near.
So as we lay them down to rest
We’ll watch one final film
In honour of their memory
And the love they had for them.
