Based in Addingham, just a few miles down the Wharfe valley, I know this part of the Yorkshire Dales well – I went to school here, and I’ve had the privilege of leading wedding ceremonies in and around Skipton for several years now.

Skipton Wedding Venues
A few of the venues I’d particularly recommend for a celebrant-led ceremony in the Skipton area:
The Devonshire Arms, Bolton Abbey – one of the finest wedding venues in the north of England, set within the Bolton Abbey estate on the banks of the Wharfe. I’ve led ceremonies here, and the combination of the setting, the service, and the surroundings is genuinely hard to beat for couples who want something special.
Skipton Castle – one of the best-preserved medieval castles in England, and an extraordinary backdrop for a ceremony. If you want guests talking about your venue for years, this is it.
The Coniston Hotel Country Estate – set in 1,400 acres of private Yorkshire Dales countryside, with the flexibility to accommodate everything from intimate ceremonies to large celebrations. The views alone are worth it.
The Tithe Barn, Bolton Abbey – With one of the best backyard views of all time across the grounds of the Abbey itself, one of the most atmospheric barn interiors in the county, and an exceptional in-house catering team, the Tithe Barn has it all.
Malham Cove — for the adventurous. A celebrant ceremony doesn’t need four walls, and the view from Malham Cove on a clear day is one of the finest in the Dales. If you’ve ever thought “wouldn’t it be incredible to get married somewhere like this” – the answer is yes, and I can make it happen.
